Features When selecting the preferred style of chair, please refer to the colour coded icons for the features available either as standard or as an additional option. |
Adjustable Seat Height Standard feature on all swivel chairs - Each chair is guaranteed for users up to 150kgs (23,75 stones). The gas lift provides a minimum / maximum height to accommodate the majority of users from 4ft 10in to 6ft 6in. Users of a slighter stature may require an adjustable footrest whilst seated. |
Lumbar Support All of the seating featured within this website provide vital kidney lumbar support. By adjusting the backrest for height, the correct positioning of the lumbar support can be achieved so please take a few moments to ensure that your chair back is in the correct position to provide support. Models Buckingham and Harvard have height adjustable lumbar supports that can be raised and lowered to correspond with the users lumbar area. |
Adjustable Seat Depth This feature provides users with a longer thigh length to achieve the correct levels of support whilst seated for long periods. To achieve the correct seat depth simply push in the button on the side of the seat (whilst seated) and slide forwards (increasing the seat depth) or push in the button whilst elevated from the seat (decreases the seat depth). There is 50mm of seat depth adjustment in 10mm increments. The correct seat depth is achieved when the user can make a fist between the front of the seat and the back of the calf when seated, with their feet flat on the floor. |
Adjustable Back Height It is important to adjust the back of the chair to ensure that the lumbar area and shoulders (where appropriate) are correctly supported. Seating ranges with this Icon have backrests that are independently adjustable for height. Simply lift the back of the chair whilst seated and it will rise in 6 increments of 10mm. To lower the backrest simply continue to lift and when it reaches its maximum height it will automatically drop to its lowest level enabling you to re-adjust accordingly. |
Seat and Back Tilt A swivel chair should provide support for the user without being either too slack or too stiff. Chairs with this Icon are fitted as standard with a mechanism that can be adjusted via a tensioning wheel under the front of the seat and it is very important that you take a few moments to adjust the mechanism to accurately assist in supporting you in your day to day activities. Simply rotate the wheel anti-clockwise to increase or clockwise to decrease the tension. The mechanism also has an inbuilt safety feature - when, by lifting the paddle on the front right of the chair (or push and release the grey button on the right side of the seat) you engage the movement, the movement will not commence until you recline in the chair. This feature prevents the back of the chair kicking forwards until the user is sitting properly in the chair. |
Adjustable Arm Height Adjustable arms can be a valuable component of your chair. They need to provide support whilst sitting away from the workstation yet be able to adjust to go under the workstation whilst working at the desk. We offer a variety of height adjustable arms designed to do just that and these products are easily adjusted via a trigger on the outside of each arm. Desk and elbow friendly soft pads are fitted to the arms as standard. |
